One of the best ways to start off your new year with a positive outlook is by making a vision board. This is a collection of photos, images, graphics and quotes which reflect the goals and manifestations you wish to work towards achieving in the year ahead. There are various forms of vision boards which you can make, so today I will share with you a step-by-step process on how to make a vision board for 2024.
Step One: Categories
Reflect on your current life and think about what areas you want to improve/work on for this year. Then divide these chosen areas into 9 different categories.
Examples of categories can include:
Relationships
Fitness
Health
Self-care
Nutrition
Hobbies
Finances
Travel
Career
Education
Mental Health
Step Two: Choosing Images
To find the right visions for your board, use an image search website and save images to an album/board which align with the 9 categories you are focusing on this year. You can choose a combination of images, quotes, graphics and even photos you've taken of yourself to create a vision which represents the life you want to live in 2024.

Step Three: Choosing your Vision Board
There are various forms of vision boards that you can make so you will need to decide on which form will suit your lifestyle best and be the most effective for you.
The options include:
Physical board (poster board, picture frame or cork board)
Wallpaper (phone or ipad lockscreen or desktop wallpaper)
Journal (notebook, journal or diary)
Option One: Physical Vision Board
A physical board is the largest vision board option. It gives you the opportunity to display your visions on your wall/desk to view 24/7. The benefit of using a physical board is that you can display larger images and add more categories to your vision to work on this year.
Option Two: Vision Board Wallpaper
A vision board wallpaper uses less space which encourages you to focus on the aspects of your life that you want to work on the most. The benefit of using a wallpaper vision board is that you are guaranteed to look at it regularly by using your device every day.
Option Three: Vision Journal
A journal is a great option for if you want a more private vision board. You can make this in a diary or notebook as well to suit your needs. The benefit of using a journal vision board is that you have more space to expand on your categories by creating additional spreads.
Step Four: Printing your Vision Board
If your vision board is physical/journal you will need to print your images and cut them out. To print your images, add them all to a document and adjust the sizing to how large you want each image to be. Make sure to print in colour and one-sided so that your photos are not back to back!
Step Five: Vision Board Layout
Once you have downloaded/printed your photos, it’s time to plan the layout!
Use your categories to divide photos into sections for different areas of the board. You can get creative with different photo sizes, coloured quotes and even stickers/gems!
Step Six: Visualise
Once your vision board is complete, it’s time for the most important step: visualise! Repeatedly visualising and reflecting on the images you’ve added to your board will remind you of the goals and aspirations you wanted to work on this year. And remember that you can achieve anything you set your mind to!
